This coming Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday our Year 3 and 5 students will participate in the National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). Students are assessed in the areas of spelling, grammar, punctuation, written language, reading comprehension, number, algebra, measurement, geometry, statistics and probability. The students have been well prepared for the tests through the normal delivery of the curriculum. Our teachers have also provided opportunities in the lead up to the tests for students to experience and learn about formal test conditions. These assessments are important; however, they need to be seen in the overall context of your child’s learning progress.
