National Day Against Bullying & Violence

bullying_no_way.jpgOn Friday 15 March 2019, Mary Immaculate Primary School will take a take part in the 9th National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA). We ask that students wear a touch of Orange to acknowledge the day. We will be handing out wrist bands to students and ribbons to staff.

This year's theme is Take Action Every Day. In their classrooms during the week, students in Prep – Yr 2 will be taught lessons focusing on pro-social behaviours and respect. Yr 3 – Yr 6 will have lessons around building relationships, including everyone and connecting with the community.

It is sometimes helpful to discuss what bullying is and isn't with your children as this can be a word that is misused.  Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Education Minister Dan Tehan have asked that schools share this letter with you about resources on the Student Wellbeing Hub available to help protect children. I would encourage you explore these: https://www.studentwellbeinghub.edu.au/docs/default-source/ministerial-letter-pdf7250c82b12584530be64f322786b8503.pdf?sfvrsn=0
