School Officer Day 2018

school officer day.jpgThe commonly used saying 'it takes a village to raise a child' is an appropriate phrase to use when describing the many staff members that contribute to providing quality Catholic education at Mary Immaculate. Often the 'spotlight' is on the contributions of teaching staff. This is understandable given that education is our 'core business' and our teachers lead the progression of learning for each child in our community.

We can never, however, underestimate the contributions made by non-teaching staff. Often working behind the scenes, their contributions are enormous! Next Wednesday 13th June is School Officer Day, a day to celebrate the contributions of school support staff. On this day we acknowledge the skills, professionalism and commitment of our School Officers. Our dedicated School Officers (Secretaries and Teacher Assistants) support our students and teaching staff in many ways. One thing is for sure; we can never underestimate their contributions! Having worked in five other school communities, I can say with great authenticity and confidence that our school officers are second to none! On behalf of our community would like to recognise amazing contributions of:

  • Bernadette Stone (Front Office Secretary)
  • Laura Richards (Finance Secretary)
  • Charmaine Coles (Teacher Assistant and Library Assistant)
  • Christina England (Prep Teacher Assistant)
  • Amanda de Kretser (Teacher Assistant)
  • Katrina Crew (Teacher Assistant)
  • Belinda Drummond (Teacher Assistant)
