Seesaw making Learning Visible at MIA!

This year, we have a whole school focus on optimising Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance learning and teaching across the school. The generosity of the P & F has enabled us to provide every child in every class with access to an iPad. This level of access is incredible for a small school and one that we are very grateful for!

It is providing us with a consistent way of working across the school to ensure that we are making the most of our wonderful access to ICT. As Principal, I'm very excited and very pleased by the level of engagement with Seesaw across the community! Teachers, students and parents have all embraced this new way of working and sharing of learning.

ICT plays an important in learning. In the Australian Curriculum, students develop Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capability as they learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively in all learning areas at school. ICT capability involves students learning to make the most of the digital technologies available to them, adapting to new ways of doing things as technologies evolve and limiting the risks to themselves and others in a digital environment.

I'd like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our Teacher Librarian, Mrs Leanne Delaney, for her tremendous efforts in supporting the implementation of Seesaw across the school community! Mrs Delaney is passionate about the use of ICT to engage learners. She works with every class, co-planning and co-teaching with all classroom teachers to help build their capacity.
