2021 ANZAC Commemoration School Service

This morning Mr Lomas and I attended the annual 2021 ANZAC Commemoration School Service held in Brisbane city at the ANZAC Square and Memorial Galleries.  I was accompanied by three of our Year 6 senior leaders.  The ceremony is organised each year by the ANZAC Day Commemoration Committee (ADCC). In attendance was His Excellency the Hon. Paul de Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland and Mrs de Jersey; Mr Bart Mellish, Assistant Minister for Veterans; Affairs, Trade and COVID Recovery representing the Hon. Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland, Queensland Government representatives, senior military officers from the Navy, Army and Air Force and other friends of ADCC QLD.

Our senior leaders represented our school with respect, and I sincerely thank them and their families for supporting their participation today.

My thanks to Mr Lomas for organising this opportunity for Mary Immaculate to be represented today.  We will commemorate those past and current men and women who serve our country with a whole school ANZAC liturgy tomorrow morning.  I welcome parents to join us to commemorate ANZAC Day first thing tomorrow morning on The Green.
