National Reconciliation Week

Mary Immaculate Primary School is proud to have an amazing school with an inclusive, diverse, and respectful community of learners.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is celebrated from Saturday 27 May 2023 to Saturday 3 June 2023 (Week 6-7, Term 2). These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey — the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2023, Be a Voice for Generations, encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.

For the work of generations past, and the benefit of generations future, this week is about choosing to create a more just, equitable and reconciled country for all.

Our amazing school is an inclusive community where we show respect for all. This National Reconciliation Week is an opportunity to celebrate diversity and work towards a more reconciled Australia by being a voice for generations.

As a faith-filled community, we are inclusive and show respect to others, following in Jesus’ footsteps.

We have some fun things for the kids to do for National Reconciliation Week:
